After Eating Rocks To Survive, This Great Dane Finally Gets A Second Chance

Despite the countless canines out there waiting for a better tomorrow, some stories restore our faith in humanity. Angelo, a Great Dane puppy, was discovered on the streets, practically a lost cause. Severely malnourished and unable to stand, he faced a grim fate.

However, an incredible turn of events occurred. A compassionate woman who dedicates herself to rescuing stray dogs stepped in. Angelo’s case wasn’t straightforward; serious medical intervention was still necessary.

Angelo’s Fight for Survival

The Great Dane puppy’s immobility stemmed from stones in his stomach. Angelo, malnourished and desperate, resorted to eating these stones for survival.

His tummy became laden with stones, rendering him unable to eat or defecate upon arrival at the shelter. This life-threatening situation necessitated immediate surgery, yet even then, the well-being of this resilient Great Dane boy remained uncertain.

Furever Rescue Foster’s Vital Role

A woman named Hanan, part of the Furever Rescue Foster organization, went above and beyond to ensure Angelo’s survival. Despite the expensive surgical procedure and the demanding recovery process that followed, she turned to social media for help.

Justin Finning and his wife, Deborah, came across a photo of this unfortunate boy. Despite the geographical distance, they were determined to make a difference and assist him.

A Serendipitous Connection

This wasn’t the first time Justin and Deborah decided to save a Great Dane dog. With over thirty years of experience in rescuing and fostering Great Danes with disabilities, this compassionate couple had seen their fair share of challenges.

When they learned about Angelo’s case, their hearts went out to him. Angelo, however, presented a unique obstacle: he was in a different country and couldn’t fly until after his surgery. Undeterred, Justin, Deborah, and their collaborator Hanan sprang into action. They initiated a fundraiser to collect the necessary funds for Angelo’s treatment.

Beyond the initial surgery, Angelo required physiotherapy and hydro treatment, along with a specialized diet – all of which came with an extremely expensive price tag. But for this devoted couple, saving Angelo’s life was worth every effort.

Thankfully, the compassionate couple achieved their remarkable mission and extended much-needed assistance to Angelo.

The surgery was a success, and now this resilient boy required some time to regain his strength before embarking on his journey to his forever home. When the long-awaited day finally arrived, Hanan shared on her Facebook:

“Finally, Angelo has found his home, and he is incredibly happy, relishing every moment of his new life.

Justin Finning and Deborah Noakes, your sponsorship and warm welcome have made our small paradise complete.”

A Joyful Boy in His Forever Home

Justin and Deborah were committed to aiding Angelo’s complete recovery. They faithfully accompanied him to therapy sessions, and over the course of a few months, this remarkable young boy ultimately realized his full potential.

He’s transformed from a timid, introverted boy into a lively, cheerful Dane who thrives on being the center of attention. He dashes around, frolics in his expansive new backyard, and accompanies his family to the beach!

But the highlight of his fresh start is undoubtedly his new housemates. Sharing his home with three other dogs, he revels in life’s joys. We wish him a lengthy, joy-filled journey, brimming with love and exciting escapades. Truly, he deserves it!
